need help on tire selection
need help on tire selection
on the way home from my work last night, one of my pirellies in the back went flat. so now i need new tires and i am looking at the bfg g-force sport. the ratings are pretty good but i just wanted input from the tire experts before i make a decision.
thanks
thanks
What exactly do you not like about the Pirelli's? I find they tram on some of the more rutted roads but that has more to do with the tire width then the make of tire. I also find the grip excellent.
that guy who recomended falkens, somebody drag him out in the street and shoot him.... hes obviously had a honda, stick with BFG oh yokohama i'd say, schwab will try to sell you their house brand but dont listen, go to Discount Tire Company, they will take caer of you and they have good replacement warranty. theres my 2 cents
Edit: /\ /\ listen to him, eagle f1's are sweet **** too

I've used Falkens before on a different car...they were actually sticky as hell. Only problem is that they wore out after 20k miles, *but* they had a 60k treadware warranty. Needless to say, that warranty was no longer offered when the tires were wore out, but I got my replacement set for about 1/4 of the cost!
I've had no problems with the Pirellis yet, but I haven't really pushed them to their limit either. They seem comfortable enough, but damn I know they're not going to last. Parking on concrete, they leave dark marks from where my car was sitting.

what about the kuhmo escta MX tires. there only 97$ a piece and on tire rack everyone gives them good ratings.

My buddy has them on his SRT-4, and he hates them. He said they don't grip worth $hit. The way I look at the cost of tires is this, if you want cheap tires don't expect anything sticky because they're usually designed to last long. If you want decent tires, you're going to find them at average prices. If you want sticky tires, you're going to pay and they probably wont last that long. I guess it really comes down to what you need. I personally will spend the extra money for sticky tires because there is nothing worse than having great power, and no way to harness it all.
