Need higher mileage tires

I drive about 17k mostly highway miles a year and I need new tires. I had Nitto Neogens that lasted almost 2 years now, but it doesn't look like they make the same ones anymore so I'm having to find some new tires. I like to stick with the bigger brand names. Price is also an issue, I need to stay around 600 - 700 for the tires. Any suggestions?

You may need an alignment. Your toe alignment setting is probably not set right. Go to a couple of different tire shops and have them give you a print out. They usually do a print out for free. On my 2009 ss the rear toe was out .3 degrees on the right passenger rear from the factory. 0.3 is quite a bit for one tire to be out of spec. The rear will need shims behind the hub or they will have to shift the whole axle. Shims are easier.

Smaller rims usually end up with tires that are like 65k warrantied.

The Conti ProContact has a 60K mile warranty, and most people get around 50K assuming regular rotation / proper alignment / etc. Its a fairly passive (non performance oriented), so handling might be a little disappointing compared to the stock tires. You could also look at Cont's Extreme Contact DWS (50K mile warranty) or Pirellu PZero Nero AS (45K mile warranty) for better handling, but we'd expect around 40K life span from those.

Awesome thanks for the suggestions everyone! It would seem the DWS has been the recommendation of most people who put some higher miles on their tires... I don't know how different they are now, but I had some Pirelli's on my Focus and they didn't last for crap (and we all know how much of a performer the Focus is!!!) So I am a little weary on the Pirelli's...

Will the DWS in a 245/40/18 fit without rubbing on a stock setup? Otherwise I have to drop back down to a 225 from the 235 I am at now....
