New Wheels

alright, after an hour or two about reading all these damn tire threads i think im more confused about them than what i was before. to make this simple, im going to tell you 2 scenarios.

i bought borbet type fs wheels for my 06ss/sc i would like to know if these will fit either the stock pirellis or a tire that is 225/40Z R18. the thing i guess im confused about is the 18x7.5 what is the stock rim and is the offset going to be a problem? i want to put my pirellis on these wheels, but if i cant i have a set of junky falkens ill put on instead, which are the above size.

also, here are some specs of this wheel

Size: 18x7.5
Original Price:$229 (each)Now 21% Off:$179 Closeout $179 (each) Closeout
Offset: +35mm
Bolt Pattern: 5-110
Rec. Tire Size:225/45-18

ANY help would be appreciated guys. Thanks.

anyone?

18x7.5 is perfectly fine, but I'm not sure what our stock is, 7 or 7.5

You can run your 215's , the sidewall will most likely slope inward a bit . If u end up buying tires I would step up past the 225 and go with a 235/40-18 ....you do have the room in the fender wells .

I cant wait to see these on your car ...so make sure to take GOOD pics . Ive always liked these wheels and though they would look really good on a SS .

The stock wheels are 7" inches wide @ 42mm offset . Going the 7.5 with a 35mm offset will stick the wheels out 13mm( 1/2 inch ) more than stock . It should look pretty damn good on the car , as I think the stock wheels sit to far inside the wheel well . My 7.5 wheels have a 40 mm offset I wish I woulda got a bit more .

ouch, thats kinda a low offeset. I have a +42mm offset w/ my Enkei WDMs and they still arent anywhere near flush w/ my fenders.

I can't really help ya (I bought a wheel/tire package so it already came ready to go), but I just thought i'd tell ya that you shouldn't expect a flush fitment.

But no matter, nice purchase and enjoy your new wheels.

You have it backwards , the less offset the further out the wheel goes . 35mm will make these wheels about dead flush with the top of the fender line .

sstyless18- Yea , they wont be optimal ...but they will work . If you really want to be sure , get on tire racks site or pirelli's US site . All the manfacturers list the safe rim widths for ALL the sizes they carry by specific model of the tire .

I just put the stock 215's on 7.5" width. It looks and works just fine, but I will go with at least a 225 for my next tires, maybe 235.
