New wheels need one welded
New wheels need one welded
Basically got these free from a car at work, one doesn't hold air, then we found it had been welded but failed already check it out:

So I need to get that repaired, local rim repair show charges like $150 I think that's pretty damn steep and really don't want to pay that, can any welder with a tig weld something like this? or is there a special process because its a wheel?
Heres what they look like:
tires are junk, too small anyways I got 205/50/r17's hopefully that's not a hair too big on the sidewall because I am using 205/50/16's now, just got the tires free so I cant complain.

If the repair is not done by an experience wheel repair person it'll be difficult to balance. Keep that in mind when you are looking. That said, I've never had a wheel repaired, I don't know what is reasonable.
Happened to me too.
So after I hit that crater and destroyed my wheel, I took it to the wheel doctor to get it fixed, he did a hell of a job. Before:

After:

When they grind the weld down, they're going to have to polish the lip. It will end up shiny like chrome, which will be different from the other rims. So I've decided to get them all sandblasted, and powdercoated Flat Black, and keeping the bolts around the face chrome. Also new tires, 225/45/18's. Maybe a red chevy emblem in the center caps, here's pics:Bolts for the face
Center Caps
Rims without them
Here they are fresh out of the Roto-Blaster, ready to get powdercoated
Tell me what you guys think of my plan, any suggestions???

Finally got the center caps to my rims done, what do you guys think of the Victory Red Chevy emblem, pics are from my phone, which sucks

I put the caps on after I went crusin in the flood that is my hometown

I got my front Chevy emblem Color matched to my rims, they're dusty in this pic, I'll get better pics when I get the center caps back get the center caps back Thursday, and new tires Saturday. Hell Yeah

I just found the wheels are $100 a piece new! problem is they are dated, wheel max has them but I can only find them through a google search in the wrong bolt pattern they are Nexo nx07 gunmetal 17's, cant seem to find them anywhere.
Do a search for a wheel repair shop in your area. Find one that does factory work, they're the best.
