new wheels ordered!

So my tax return finally came in, and I went ahead and ordered my anthacarite (gunmetal) Axis Reverbs, in 18"x7.5". Should be a nice improvement over my 17"x7" stockers, as not only are they lighter (19lbs each compared to the stock 24lb weight), but the .5" extra width will give me a better contact path, for added grip on the twisties and on the strip. And of course, along with these wheels comes stickier, more aggressive rubber. I can't wait to get them in and on, b/c the weather is starting to clear up nicely here!

Congrats on your new wheel perchase. Just thought I would let you know its the stock 18s that weigh 24 pounds. The 17s are most likely just a tad lighter. Either way, your shaving at least 4 pounds per wheel and 4 pounds rotating mass. Every little bit helps!

Well, turns out after calling Wheels Next (not trusting their filter system 100%) and double checking Axis I noticed a big problem with the Reverbs. No 5x110 pattern! Lol, good thing I triple check everything before going through with it. However, not to be discouraged, I checked out about 10 wheel sites after that looking for another gunmetal wheel in 18x7.5 size w/ 5x110 pattern, and it had to be from a major manufactuer I know I cant trust. The matching wheel for such criteria is the Enkei WDM. Just came out and is new for '07, and comes only in gunmetal, and actually will fit my car. On top of that, they were on sale for $1,100, which is $300 cheaper from the Reverbs. Now I usually would only go with a 5-spoke for a Cobalt, but I found the WDM's seducing, and I think the wheels will look aggressive on the car. Not everyone is into the curvy spoke design, but I think it'll look sick. I'll post pics when I get them in, as I ordered them today from wheels next. Oh yeah, free shipping, free rim repair, free hardware mounting kit, free mounting/balancing.......and get this......FREEEE Zenn springs. Not that I need them but i'll sell them for 75% of their value once I get them, considering they'll be BRAND NEW!
