Nexes N3000

Hey guys,
Alright so i'm new to this site as i just bought a 2006 SS S/C Cobalt earlier this week. I'm pretty excited about getting it going because see.. its hit in the left front so it'll take a few weeks of minor repairs to get it up an running.

Anyway, since it needs a left front as it is and the right front is also almost shot, i'm in the market for two new rubbers. I can get a deal on some Nexes N3000 (225/40/ZR18) and they seem to have good reviews. However, since i can't find any info thus far on this site on them about how they perform on an SS Cobalt, i figured i'd ask. Soo has anyone run these tires before or know someone who has to sway me one way or the other for em?

Thanks
ssjoshvt

Sooo apparently nobody has had any experience with these tires?

Well based on their reviews on other cars I'm gonna go ahead and try em out. Especially at the price I can get them at!

Nexen's are cheap because they are made in Taiwan, not because they are poor quality. I have 235/40/18 N7000's and they are pretty decent.

Look at it this way. if your gonna go through tires quick. then no point in buying 1k dollars in tires twice a year

I have them on my car right now, and this is my first time with them and they great. They have a grip of rubber and the ride quality is beautiful.

from what i've read and heard from around, the tires really are not a poor quality tire. i believe its the perception of them being a korean made tire. (maybe taiwan but i was informed it was korea?) nonetheless at 150 bucks for two fresh front treads, i'll give em a shot. i just sold a jeep wrangler on 33" parnelli jones dirt grip so honestly, i'm gonna feel like any tire is a 1000 times better. of course i'd prefer some bfg's but in repairing the car, i need to save as much as possible. i can upgrade once i have it runnin'..

the N3000's are great tires. I ran them on my extreme blazer and on my S10 before that, and I have a buddy who has them on his supercharged GT mustang. They hold up really well, stick to the road great, and have really good tread life

I have a set of Nexens and you can say you get what you pay for, the guy I go through could get the Pirelli's for $110 a tire, and he got me the Nexens for $80 a tire and the Nexens by far are so much better in every aspect.

its good to know that they're widely used because before the other day i wasn't familiar with them. i'm getting them wholesale too so that helps

Also I, for the life of me, cannot find how to change my avatar and where it says new member. Its not where it is on other forums! Can someone point me in the direction, i apologize for my lack of expertise in navigating this site.

You have to be a Premium Member to add an avatar, I use to have one but as you see I no longer have PM so I lost the ability.

alright man I just looked and figured it out for ya... scroll up to the top and click on "user CP", then on the list of options on the left once u get to the user CP, click on "Edit Profile". Scroll down just a little bit and you'll see a box w/ a title that says "Custom User Title", right above your date of birth info and everything else. Just type in your new title, save it, and you're done!
