OZ Enkei Kyowa etc

OZ Alleggerita 18x8 18.0lbs $1600 tirerack

Enkei PF01 18x8 18.6lbs $1200 ebay

Kyowa KR228 18x7.5 17.4lbs $580 web

*all wheels are cast (not forged) and all have reviews of cracking when hitting potholes

I searched and the results are more than 3 years old. Would like to see if there are others running these wheels with cracking issues, experience and why are the price differences so far apart on almost identical wheel structures and weights.

Thanks in advance.

*edit, ill add a "cool story bro" story for you as well. I had Enkei RS5 10 years ago on my Cavi and hit a pothole and it cracked. So I know its common.

you know, the more and more I look at wheels the more I like my stockers. I look sleeperish and the things arent even that heavy for a stock 18 (23lbs I think) not only that they are freaking FORGED, as in if you bought aftermarket 18 inch forged rims they would be more than the stupid OZ rims. Our stockers are pretty amazing for what they are.

No experience with the other two, but more than happy with my Enkei's so far. Have read great things about OZ's though.

i really like the enkeis but my roads in my town are horrible. I dont think they would be up to the daily driving task. I also have a hard time justifying the cost at this juncture. Maybe later this year or next, so many projects so little money.

Coming from a guy who bought knock off's as opposed to the wheels he originally wanted on the first go around... save and buy the wheels you want the first time. You will be much happier and will have more money for other mods in the long run. The above poster is right about the MAT from what ive read and heard from other Enkie owners. The paint may chip like any paint will. But its pretty tough to bend or crack em. Although ive been very careful with mine, not willing to put them to the test. Lol
