Recommended summer Tire size?

Hello all, I am looking into getting new summer tires for my cobalt SS/SC. I have been doing alot of research on tire sizes but I could not find any specific answers. What would you guys reccomended? I'm on stock wheels. If you also have any tires you would recommend please feel free to include that.
note. I am stage 2 tuned if that's important...

I think the stock size is 215/45-18.

235/40-18 is close in overall diameter but might be a tad wide for stock wheels.

Use the stock size, 215/45-18. 225/40-18 will rub when turning.

Really?

I know LNFs have 225/40-18 from the factory. I run 245/40 on aftermarket wheels and they dont rub. I find it hard to believe the offset would be much different between lsj and lnf wheels.

This is news to me unless there is a serious difference other than turning radius between control arms the 225/40-18 should be fine, I've run a 235/40-18 and had no rubbing.

Put 225/40-18 on stock SS/SC wheels, turn the wheel all the way, and try backing out of a driveway. Did it years ago and it rubbed every time I was at or near full lock.

ive run 225/40zr18 since 2008, never had issues with rubbing, and way back then i was lowered 2"+. if you had rubbing issues id be looking to see whats wrong, people run much wider tires without rubbing.

stock size was 215/45zr18, its sort of an uncommon size, hence why people go to 225/40zr18. 225/40zr18 is actually slightly smaller diameter and just a hair wider (10mm, or 3/8"). i wouldnt go any wider on a factory wheel.

i run bfg sport comp 2 tires, they work pretty decent for spirited daily driving, and do well in both dry and wet conditions.

Yea I have the BFG's and they are great. Much better tread life compared to the Pirellis too.

That's funny, I'm currently running a set of those even during the winter.
