Rims and tires = $800+ / Springs = <$200
Yes your car will sit high with 18" and no drop...

You can get a set of SS/SC springs cheap and they'll give you about 1" drop.
Someone lied
If you shop around you can get 18's for $700

most lowering springs are less than 250 or so. install is very easy, you can do it yourself or have someone help you that knows how. whoever told you lowering springs are more than 1000 doesn't know what they're talking about.
The car will sit no higher than stock, with the same exact wheel/fender gap if you go with the right size of tire. A 225/40/18 for an LT (anything but SS/SC actually) is the closest to stock overall diameter.
Actually 225/35/18 or 215/40/18 is closer for those the came with 195/60/15 but I chose 225/40/18 to help fill the wheel well and a better price. I'll have my stealership reflash me ECU for the LT's 16" wheels and 205/55/16's later. They quoted me $45 to do it.
umm ok guy's to drop it "right" is what he said.. .IE getting performance shock/struts paird with the springs..
aren't koni's 300 for the back and 300 for the front? plus like 200 for springs even doing the install yourself will run like 800 bux, however you can drop the car on springs and not worry about the shocks/struts for a while. I got an awesome deal on my 17" rims and tires and it came out to 927 installed and that was with knocking like 300 of the price there's no 2 ways around it .. rims are more expensive even if you get shocks/struts..
the only way lowering the car is 1K+ is if you get coil overs or air bags
