Spacers vs steering & brakes shaking

Hi
I own a 09 SS, I installed 7/32' spacers with IRL 17' wheels for winter.

As the temperature got warmer a few weeks ago, the steering wheel started to shake at higher speeds (+85 km/h) and so did the brakes when I would hit them at any speed.

Got the air compressor out, made sure I had proper pressure in all tires and sure enough, I did. Checked the nuts, tightened them up with the impact just to be on the safe side, everything was already plenty tight.

Still wouldn't go away; I never had an impact or hit anything that would've resulted in the wheel alignment being off.

Now yesterday, I take off the IRL wheels & spacers to put the stock 18's back on, no shaking. Gone.

I'm a bit baffled as to why it did that... has anyone experienced the same thing with spacers ?
