Speedo question...?
Hey guys, I am going from the stock pirellis which are a 215/45ZR18 to BFG G-Force T/A KDW's that are 215/40ZR18. (Thats as close to the stock size I could find in the BFG's) Anyway my question is, will going with the slightly smaller tire throw my speedometer off? Any help would be appreciated. Also I am going from the stock rims to Motegi DP20's black with a polished lip, if anyone has seen these rims let me know what you think about them on a black 'balt SS/SC. Thanks!
dude if you havn't done this yet, don't.
Why would you go SMALLER of all things? Go BIGGER.
Run at LEAST 225's, if not 235's.
edit - I run 235/40 BFG KDW2's on the stock wheels and run Sportlines... don't worry about rub, if that is the case.

I am planning to put the sportlines on next, and I didn't ask for your opinion on the tires the question was about the speedometer... I think you missed that. Thanks anyway. And big rims are just making up for your insecurities in other areas. Peace.

Okay, fine: yes, any difference in tire size or wheel size will throw off a speedometer. However, with it being only slightly different, the speedo will only be slightly different - My guess would be ~1mph give or take.
Back to the tire subject, just trying to help you out. If you don't want help and/or people's opinions, probably shouldn't be part of a community website. But thanks anyway.
Big rims? WTF are you talking about? I run the stock wheels, learn to read.

Here is the link for the speedo .
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
your speedo will read too fast when it reads 60 mph you'll only be going 58mph
Some are that age others are older some are in the middle like myself. However most people don't like new people coming on the site, that have no idea of the difference between their ass and their face, and decide to ask questions and when people try to help them, they decide to talk ****.
