yea i know i like the tread pattern a lot better then the ones i have now.... i've been running on bald tires for about 2,000 miles now already i dont like the wear on the stock ones they are too soft... it seems these tires are much better escpecially for a better price also

Personally i would never buy another pirelli tire in my life, there are so many other high quality tires out there to choose from. Get a BFgoodrich tire liek the F1 or something like that.

Check out the thread https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ht=widest+tire
They say you could go up to 245 but with trimming, not sure if thats because its lowered or not. Although it seems the 240 should fit without a problem.
So is that the widest tire we could fit no matter what rim, that is without rubbing as a daily driver? Just wondering because I want the most traction and will buy aftermarket rims to get it, thx.

What is the widest width that we can fit without rubbing occuring as a daily driver, this is not limited to the factory rims. I have seen that supposedly you can fit 240's maybe 245's with trimming on the factory rim, so am I correct in saying that the widest tire would then be 240 or 245 on rather a factory or aftermarket as the widest width?
I haven't seen this made clear in previous posts.
Thanks.

Tire sizes
I just installed a set of 225/40-18 on my 06 SS 2.4 on 8" wide American racing Casino wheels with no problems so far. They look great and fill the wheel wells without extending pass the wheel lips. The main thing to watch changing tire size, is the overall diameter to keep your computer in line and the speedometer correct.
