What tire width for my new 9" wide wheels?

Hey CSS.Net, I wanted to be super original so I ordered a set of Varrstoens over the phone on Monday. INB4 WAH EVERYONE HAS THESE. Nobody in my area does so screw it. Anyway the size I ordered is 17x9" +30, I have an 07 SS/SC and own a fender roller so my fenders are already rolled. I am on coilovers and want a nice stance so should i go with a 215/40/17 or a 235/40/17. As Im sure you are all well aware a 225 width doesnt seem to exist for that size. I feel like a 235 might inhibit how low i can go if i want to be flush. But at the same time I feel like 215 might be too much stretch. I want to have no wheel gap or maybe tuck a mm of tire or so. Does anybody have experience with this? Thanks.

I will just say that 215/40 will be quite a stretch.. I'm doing it on a 18x9.5 this weekend. but in all honesty i would run a 235 because if you have the 17's and stretched your car is going to be on the ground..
Im pretty sure if you check the stance thread or around you will see dakotaspeir 's old car and bpacak 's car and look into what tires they are running. or maybe a PM would be a good idea. hope this helps.

I would go 235 personally. I think tire stretch is the gay but you'll still have a BIT of stretch. Here's your wheels on a 235/40/17 tire, which is the perfect size in my opinion:

i run a 215/40/18 on my 18x8.75 almost 9 wide and the stretch is good. i had a 235 but rubbed to bad. id say get a 225/40 or 215, 205 will be too much stretch lulz. the outer lip on the wheel will chip like crazy.

you also have to keep in mind that some tires run wider and smaller than others like a federal 225/40 runs wider like a 235/40 falken ziex 512s stretch good and so do nitto neo gen hankook ventus.

heres some pics of a 215/40/18 18x8.75 and a 225/40 on 18x9
