Wheel Locks: Should I or shouldn't I?

Hey,

I am ordering an '07 SS Sedan at the end of this month. The wheels that come with it are the stock 17" polished aluminum wheels. I live in North Jersey and at times I am in places that aren't the greatest, and at times I am in Philly, Baltimore and DC. Would you get the wheel-locking nuts for these wheels, or is that just stupid and paranoid? I have no idea if these would be attractive enough to steal.

Any thoughts and perspectives are appreciated!

Cheers,
Keith

Go ahead and get them.

I know a ... fellow... who used to be a thief. There are ways to get around the locking lug nuts, but really anything you can do to make it harder on the thief will likely make him choose to go elsewhere.

Philly, DC and Baltimore.... Yeah, I'd pick up a set. Just watch out for the carjackers. A friend of mine got jacked at gun point in Baltimore.

Hey guys,

Thanks, I feel better about it and won't feel like such a tool now ordering them. I mean it's easy to go ***** out nuts when you get a new car and it's good to get a disinterested party's advice.

I don't often go to those places but I'm there enough and most times find myself in the NYC area, but the little voice of reason and conscience told me to go for them.

Cheers,
Keith

They are a great investment! Not only do they deture criminals from stealing your rims, (it only detures because if they want it they will get it) but if they do your inssurance is more likly to cover it if you had locking wheel nuts. If you don't your insurance may tell you to go to hell.

Yeah get em. It's the cheapest security feature you can buy!

I do not like them at all. People tend to lose the damn key and get a flat and it becomes more of a hastle to have them. It is easy to get a kit to break any locking lug off in seconds. We have 3 sets sitting at work lol.
