Wheel Spacers

Has anybody used any wheel spacers on the cobalt yet? Any problems are the studs long enough etc.? I'm just wondering because I have a set of 1/4" spacers that I was thinking about throwing on the rear of the car.

I'd rather just save my money, get the wide body kit, then get wider wheels altogether =)

Here's another snap. 19x8.5 front, 19x 9.5 rear. 3 1/2" lip front, 4 1/2 " rear

Yea I don't really want wider tires on the rear I just wanted them pushed out a little wider.

i dunno man, looks fine to me. if it is slightly bigger as you say, it doesn't really show. we were talking about significantly larger/wider rears. or at least I think we were.

Give me an example because as far as the Cobalt is concerned, it's only so much you can do stock. As you we're saying in an earlier post, a widebody kit would give you more room to work with front and rear.
I'm working with stock suspension and no mods as far as fitting a 9.5 width on the rear.
Pictures may not do it justice but it's plain to see that it's a custom staggered fitment on a stock Balt. Why in the world would I lie about my own ride? Some people just don't have an eye for certain things.

Widebody fitment with a wider rim is more of a car show status to me.

you can barely tell those are bigger... i meant if they were way big in the back... you're actually looks pretty good, you can barely tell the difference in the pics. i'm sure it looks better in person.

i did say if he was doing it for looks, why not.

wasn't calling you a liar; just meant that i would have to take your word for it, because the difference wasn't obvious to me.

Yep, I know. Like I said before.

No, it's a 235 for now. Moving to a 255 sooner or later. This is just a test fitment.

But like it was stated before, if you go too big in the rear it will look silly and be overly done. I think it's a fine line between looking good and looking down right rediculous. I originally was going with a 8 on front and a 9.5 in the rear, but I wanted more traction and a more aggresive look upfront.
I'll have another suprise up my sleeve here in a month or two.

I was Planning to do something similar as the OP to all 4 wheels. I LOVE the stock SS 18" rims. I just wish they were a lil wider. Figure pushing them out a lil farther will get rid of the tucked look and fill some of the fender gap more.

Yep, you can do that. Your handling will be more stable also. Should look good. Just have to find the right size spacers. I'd say go for it!!

If you are looking for them you can try pepboys because I found them there for like $7 or $8 each which isn't too bad. You could also try this site because they might have the size you want. The only thing you need to watch is how thick of a spacer you get because if you get a really thick one you will need to get longer wheel studs

Remedy... if you take those wheels off i will hunt you down and step on you foot!!!!! LOL..

U know that car looks sick!!!! I think its just that in the pics the front wheels are turned so that you can see them.. and thats the reason people are really seeing the size diff.

The way the cobalts are shaped almost scream for wider tires in the back so it will look fine. Spacers/Adapters do have some long term effects on your vehicle.. im not sure if the widers wheels have to same effect There are several things you'll have to weigh into your decision.. but as far as looks.. i say go for it

x2, the first post mentioned "possible damage" but I don't see how that could happen.

Also to that silver SS/SC with the spacers, how thick are the spacers you're running?
