Why does my abs/traction control mess up?

During the non-winter months, I put on Yokohama S-Drive 225 50 17 tires on Drag DR 34 wheels. Seems like when I hit a bump just right and am applying the brake it causes the ABS light to come on and the traction control to shut off. Car still perform fine. If I put the car in park, shut if of for a few minutes and restart, the traction control is functional and as soon as I drive Forward, the ABS light shuts off. Stays this way until I hit a bumpr the irght way again.....

Anyone else have this happen? In the wither is run Michelin X-Ice snow tires, stock size on the OEM wheels and have no problems. Could the summer tire and wheel combination be causing this? The DR 34 wheels have a different off set than OEM, but within what is allowed to not affect suspension geometry. I'm stumped and ready to ditch the tires and go back to stock size on the DR 34 wheels......

Help....?

OEM Wheels
Michelin X-Ice 205 50R 17 (Winter Only)

Rest is Factory Stock

225/50R17 is a little taller than stock (assuming you have a non SC car) by just over 3%. Normally we would not expect problems like yours unless you were 5% over stock diameter, but your car may be a little "touchy". I'm pretty sure the wheels are not causing the issue, its just the larger diameter. You should be able to purchase a tuner/reprogrammer that will let you program the car for the taller tire, or you can always go back to stock tire size.

If you're running all 4 the same size tires the car doesn't care what size they are.

Personally it sounds like you have a wheel speed sensor that's either dying or has an intermittent connection. Check the plugs right behind the brake discs on all of your wheels.
