Why wheels no fit?

So i bought some SS/SC rims off a friend for winter wheels. I was told and read that all i would need is a 5mm spacer to make them clear my brembos. Go to put the on and bam that wont clear the brembos. So now what do i do?

id prefer to not shave my calipers. Bigger spacer will require bigger longer studs.

Just had a set of 18 ss/sc rims with 5mm spacers sold last month. Fit perfect over my brembos. The 17s fit without a spacer I'm 99% sure

I used a 5mm spacer to clear my Brembos with some LSJ wheels. Without the spacer i have a feeling they would have touched the brakes. They were pretty close with the spacer.

Yes very sure they are lsj 18s. I didnt know they were rubbing till i drop the car. Put it in nuetral and tried to roll down the driveway and it didnt move. Jacked it back up and tried spinning them and sure enough the were touching. Took them off and saw the rub mark on the back side of the rim.

I had a set of ss/sc wheels on mine for a week before I sold them. I had cheap advanced spacers, (8mm) with extended studs. Spacers were $15 and new studs we're another $15 for 10 for the front. No biggie though.

Well that explains why they didnt fit. On well i guess. Ill just either find some new rims or put the tires onto my lnf rims. Only paid 500 for all 4 rims and tires. The tires were brand new and are 200 a piece.
