Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110
It's 225/40/18 for the TC. Good tires...very popular here. You might want to try the 235/40/18s though. They will fit the TC and provide better rim protection..little less harsh ride and look better too (less fender gap).

well, the 235s still look very low profile...the side walls are only 4mm (1/6") taller

I've run 225/45 noticed way less scraping with them guess that little extra bit of ground clearance helped, I will probably go to 245/40 if i keep the cobalt long enough to need new tires,, i need the traction

235/45 only come in 17"..the TC is an 18" wheel. All TC people here use 235/40/18 which is around 4mm taller in side wall than 225/40/18.

225/45s are too tall..245/40s are too wide for a 7.5" wide stock TC rim (also a tad too tall as well). Will they fit, sure..but I wouldn't mount em on a stock rim.

there is no too tall for a rim, some people may find the 225/45's make the t/c too high for their liking, but i enjoyed the extra ground clearance and not worrying about scraping on stuff (as much) not to mention they didnt rub at all on anything, 235 is the widest reccomended for 7.5 inch rims, but whats another 10 mm?

When I said *TOO TALL* I meant the 225/45/18s will come in contact with the fender under certain circumstances.

I'm running 225/45 on my LSJ with sportlines with 8mm spacers and I don't rub the fender or inner fender at all

I was talking stock set up only...btw...are those 18" rims like the TC has or are yours 17s?
Big difference.

Mine are 18". And if I don't rub I don't see why his would rub. I'm lower and wider.

i wish they had a rim protector. thats the only thing im not liking about those. and the fatter the better. i hear hankooks run a little thin so i might get a 245 or 255. i have wider rims than stock of course.

That's a surprise, but if you say so...I'll stand corrected. 225/45/18s are almost 1" larger in diameter, so speedo will be off quite a bit...around 10%. Are you sure there's no rubbing on turns of the wheel or bottoming? In any event, I think that size is a very poor choice for the TC...handling (side wall flex) and acceleration (taller tire) will also suffer. To each his own.

the side wall height is only .44 inches greater the only rubbing i ever experienced was in winter when the snow built up in my wheel wells, the speedo is only 3.5% off, the taller tire may hurt acceleration in 3rd gear and up, but it can only help in 1st and 2nd when the car has enough power to spin the tires with ease, 225/45/18's come on quite a few cars that pull similar/better numbers than the ss/tc on the skidpad and slalom, I would say raising the center of gravity effected handling more then sidewall flex

225/45's also are a hell of a lot smoother if you live in an area with awful roads, such as myself.

Yes..it is 3.5% off not 10%...rushed through the calculation...my bad.
Still...not the tire of choice. I suppose it's a matter of trade offs and the *benefits* are far outweighed by the negatives. A 235/40 would be the best choice other than stock size (which offers the best handling for a stock rim).

This is prolly the only real benefit of this tire size...something to consider with real nasty roads.

I run a 245/40r18 on a set of 18x8 inch wheels. They don't rub unless I go over a bump at full lock.
