Winter tires!

So I got my winter tires put on a pair of stock SS rims and I put them on the car today and went for a drive and now everytime i hit the breaks the steering wheel shakes. I thought it might have been the rotors but they were fine before i had put my winters on, does anyone have any idea whats wrong here!

more than likely, the front wheels were over tourqued when they were put back on and warped the rotors. That happened to my old car. Got the rotors turned and it fixed the problem about 95 percent.

I changed the tires this morning, so the rotors were cold......is it possible to still warp them?

Did you use a torque wrench and torque them to 100ft/lb? If you didn't use a properly calibrated wrench you could easily have over-torqued them and warped your rotors.

Canadian Tire usually has sales on their MasterCraft Ultimate (or something like that) torque wrenches. Mine has worked great and can torque up to 250ft/lb. It's not Snap-On, but it's good for the price. I got mine for $55 last boxing day. Regular price is $105 if I'm not mistaken. I'd also check the smaller auto parts stores, they often have deals... Princess Auto in Ontario sells them for $20 sometimes (Chinese, mind you).

Sure, whatever you say, go torque you wheels down at 200+ft/lb and see what happens.

...Seriously, why do people chime in with no facts or logic backing them up?
