My neighbor had the WS50 on his mustang (1996 gt) and could reliably climb the hills around our homes. 5% and 8% grades in a 20mph zone. The blizzaks are the best for the studless ice and snow from what I gather.

Blizzacks are some of the best snow tires on the market. If you're interested in a good, cheaper alternative, check out general altimax arctics, they're very god as well while much cheaper

wasn't thinking about stock wheels, ya I don't think they will come in the right size for 18s. I would however be a good idea to pick up a set of winter wheels, it will get expensive switching tires twice a year quickly. They will pay for themselves over time. Plus your 18s will stay in better shape.

Winterforces hands down if you get another set of 16 or 17" wheels. Tires are absolutely amazing in the snow.

I bought Hankook I-pikes, and my previous tires were Hankook Ice bears. The I-pikes are very agressive and for my driving style I do not like them as they are very soft and we don't get enough snow to justify the agressive tread pattern. The ice bears were more of a well handing winter tire.

that begs the question: are there some good 17" options for cheap that would fit over the Brembos? I'm pretty sure I looked a while back and found nothing that would save much over just buying some nice black drag dr-33 or enkei ev5's next summer..

You can usually pick up a set of ss/na 17" wheels or ion redline wheels for cheap on here. If you already plan on buying aftermarket wheels next summer then you might as well wait though.

general altimax artics as already said will beat most blizzacks. when I was at stock height I was flying through over a foot of snow. Snow was literally being thrown over the wind shield and I wouldn't get stuck.

Anyone that I have known that uses blizzaks loves them, including myself on the stock wheels. I've heard it so much its ridiculous, and im not just saying it i work at a belle tire so i hear what ppl say about them. As long as i have 2 sets of wheels, one of them will have blizzaks on them
