Mine ranges from 187 crusing on the highway to about 210 standing still, your temp should be just fine.

If you peak over 230 once in a while, it's ok. If you're over 230 consistently, it's not going to hurt the car, but it is a sign the system's losing its ability to cool the engine. If it has been a while, get the system flushed and re-filled. Over time the coolant will break down and won't transfer heat as efficiently.

There's no difference in performance between the green and the red / orange / whatever color they put it. You just can't mix them. As long as they flushed it first, then re-filled with green, you're good to go. I had my Pontiac flushed and filled with green after my radiator, heater core, and water pump all had to be replaced in a 1-year span. No problems after that, except the heater core going again, but that was due to a bad install from the shop.

Who knows? Marketing, maybe? I have not seen a single mechanic say dex-cool is better than anything else, and have seen several that say it's not. It's "supposed" to last 5 years / 150 k miles, and perhaps it does, but you still need to break the system open sooner than that and flush it. I supposed afterwards you can put the dex-cool back in rather than change the fluid out, but it's not like 15 bucks of green stuff every couple years it going to break the bank, anyway.

Likewise...I was referring to regular antifreeze as the green stuff.
