Should i take the PVC intake off the list? It's a common mod for a cheap snorkle on Jeeps, so I didn't think twice about it. (My DD is a jeep TJ, cobalt will be for my sister)

the pvc intake may sound pretty ghetto but in some applications it works great. anything were the intake has to cross over hot engine parts (valve cover, overtop of exasut manifold, ect) it works quite well, as pvc doesnt conduct heat.

i went ahead and did the airbox mod the other week. it made a signifigant difference in sound, particularly 3-4.5k rpms. throttle response is better also. what im going to do once i rip out my headlights and that damn plastic thing underneath the headlights again...im going to take apart my piece together intake i had for my '00 subaru 2.5RS and extend the airbox intake more into the fender well and put my cone filter on in there. thus taking out that stock air filter so i would essentially have a desc CAI and i could see if it performs any better too. i will probably do this over xmas break.

i also made some 'eyelids' from some left over carbon fiber vinyl. turned out fairly nice for slapping it on and using a razor blade to cut a semi curved line to make it look nice. ill hopefully post some pics of this soon. thanks for the info and this nice list of inexpensive mods!
