Going for a new tune on the turbo 2.4
Talked to a local co. called hybrid dynamics and they will let me use the dyno and have some of the other cobalt members that are good with hp tuners come to tune my cobalt 2.4 turbo. My canned tune from hahn is ok but i would like a better more custom tune since in the winter i run lean and in the hotter part of summer i run rich and it cant be tuned with just a boost fueler to get rid of the cel. Just wondering with the hahn return fuel system, does that create an issue with tuning or will it not have any impact on the tuning process much?
So Dennis is telling you other people are going to tune your car, without actually asking them first? Doesn't seem like good business practice. Unless I am thinking of different people.
Did he tell you who was doing the tuning work?

no, he said that dan or al might want to do that with hp tuners but I would have to ask them. he only said that since they have more cobalt tuning experience than he does. I'm trying to figure that all out now.
DOH!
Yeah...........good luck with that.
Besides, what he meant was you said you were running lean in winter and rich in summer. Without a wideband to tell you exactly HOW lean or rich, nobody in their right mind is going to tune that.

if you go to a legitimate shop they should have a way of monitoring AFR without you yourself having to go out and buy a wideband
but if they are basically retuning your car from scratch I would expect to pay $500-$600 on a dyno tune
it might be more trouble than its worth if you're going for a complete retune...unless you are hitting AFRs that put your motor at risk it may not even be worth it.
btw, where the hell are you hiding? i need to get a look at this turbo 2.4

i have a stock le5 tune you can work from.
I think you're tuner is going to have a great time, copying and pasting all 400 something tables! That's going to be a couple hours right there! Because when you erase your tune, that's what is going to happen. Your computer will be erased/formatted/clean. No information.
So your tuner will have to copy and paste all the tables from a stock le5 tune, then begin to tune your n/a car for boost from scratch more than likely on a dyno and not on the street.

ur tune mite be unlocked..only one way of figuring that out...or call up hahn...he is going to stop locking the tunes from we he told me cuz im interested in his kit...and i use hptuners so iwould like to adjust it
well i could ship the pcm back to hahn to restore the stock tune if its a big deal, no problem with that just thought it was a simple thing to erase then upload a new tune but i dont know much about tuning at all really.
