neon wiring question

neon wiring question

on the neon cigarrete lighter adapter is the wire with the line going through it the negative or postive.. i want to hardwire them thats why i'm asking

i don't think on the neon lights that there is a neg and pos wire. it's just a power wire. However if you plan on hardwiring it, you may want to wire it to something linked to the light switch (such as behind the cigaratte outlet) so it lights up when the lights are on.

if i understand your question rite...the wire with the color stripe on it is pos wire...the other is a ground

anything striped is always power, anything solid is always ground if both are solid the black is usually ground and the red is usually power if both wires are clear then the bronze wire is ground, and the silver wire is power...this is all off personal experience ive ran into all 3 scenarios

in my experience with neons on my first car, it didn't really matter, and both worked just fine.
