Post 2.2/2.4 Turbo lines and where they go

well i am making this thread to help others get all the info they needs as far as where every line connects to, and what is the suggested place, there is no "it can only go here" thing, just suggestions.

Wastegate actuator- connects to a pressure fitting somewhere in the charge pipe(closer to the compressor the better)

BOV- connects to the niple from the intake manifold, right under the TB, pull the cap off and there you go

boost gauge- connects to the same line to the BOV does, the boost gauge should come with its own tee for tee'in off the line

oil feed- gallery plug in the back of the block(pic below) thread size of gallery plug is m12x1.75
http://www.vulcanturbo.com/Turboothers.html <<-- adapter can be found there

oil drain- dimple left over from the saab design(pic below)

water feed- tee one of the heater core line going into the firewall, its a 3/4 hose

water return-tee the line coming off of the valve cover that goes to the coolant resevoir

boost controller- no idea, will update when someone chimes in to say where, i would asume bewteen the wastegate act. and the pressure fitting from the turbo

^^^oil feed and drain circled

ps- thanks to all the css members that contributed their info. i took everything i learned from what ya'll told me and brought it all to one thread, maybe this can be sticky'd too, dunno, it would be useful and provide answers to those who dont know(like i didnt)

actually, the wastegate can and would probably benefit more to be hooked up to the intake manifold

iirc correctly, yes. how i understand it is the wastegate keeps exhaust gases from spinning the turbine hot side by going off of pressure. the wastegate spring is compressed via air built up in the manifold which tells the gate to bypass exhaust. the bov just releases pressure created by the cold side, so basically the wastgate is like a bov.....at least thats how i understood it....anyone else wanna chime in

yeah i get that, just that on the DSM they have a little nipple coming off of the piping immediately after the compressor housing, which has aline going to the wastegate, and on some turbos the pressure fitting i mounted right on the endge of the compressor housing...hmmm...i can see it working from the manfold aswell, what about when you shuft though, the compressor is still spinning, since the TB will be closed, the turbo wont know what psii its making for that split second, migh tover boost a bit, idk, that is a good thought though, might have to see what other say

you can do it either way but there can be problems doing it off the compressor
