AC delete?? Speedster

I`m installing a supercharger from a Cobalt SS into my Opel Speedster 2.2. My problem is that I don`t have AirCondition, and I don`t want to install a AC compressor just for the pulley, it`s to heavy for that, is there a other solution to this? A pulley mounting bracket or so?? I saw Mantapart had one, but I`ve been told not to buy anything from them...

Just find a replacement belt that is shorter. They are out there, but it will be a custom fit type of deal. Trial and error.

Or have someone make up an idler bracket for you, to replace it. Could use a modified stock idler pulley bracket probably... I have an extra one if you wanted it to modify.

The poor balt has already got a turbo so he is happy

A shorter belt won`t do it, because the alternator is in the way, one solution is to buy a AC compressor and make a bracket out of it. It`s a 870kg car, don`t want to put a lot of heavy crap on it, espesially not in the rear end.

What do you mean the Alt is in the way?

Yeah, best solution is to have someone match the mounting points and pulley location for the factory a/c compressor and just put an idler there.
