i was wondering if you can pick up a STG2 belt at....*cringe*...auto zone?? lol... (even if the chances of them giving you the wrong one are 98%)

well then the only way you are going to be able to do that is with a brand new kit...either from someone who got it and didnt use it, or from a place like crate engine depot! because you will need the re-flash code, and it only works on one pcm....otherwise you can say bye bye to your warranty

what you want to do will work, many people do it.

If i had to do it again, i would not buy the gm stg 2. instead i would buy a 2.8 pulley, belt, hub, and 60lbers and a custom tune

the stg1 injectors are almost at their peak with a 2.9 pulley.

on a shitty dyno (most innacurate thing i ever saw, took like 3 pulls to get it to read my #'s) and i think it was a mustang dyno i made 226whp with no torque reading on a hot ass humid day.

given that that is on the stg 2 tune, 2.9 pulley, stock manifold, 2.5inch dp and at the time the ark catback.

i might soon be tuned with 60's maybe a 2.8 and cooling mods.

see...i cant decide if i want to go the 2.9 on stg2 route, or just go all out with a 2.8/2.7

2.8 or 2.7 you will make more power, but you will also have to do supporing mods like dual pass, h/e, colder plugs, or even meth injection. the 2.7 pulley will generate too much heat and without cooling mods, and your IAT's will sky rocket.

im stg 2 on a 2.9 pulley for over 12k miles. no problems yet, and i dont forsee any in the future

do w/e you'd like. I would remove the 2.7 and get the old tune put back on it when you need it taken to the dealer
