if you hold the mouse cursor over it for a second, an icon should come up on the lower right corner of the image. if you click it, the image expands.

so, in first and second gear would it be better (more acceleration) to shift at or before 5,800 rpms?

Seems like a basic SC function from a stock factory SC'ed car.
I really see no use from it though unless you want to know more about how the PCM regulates boost.

Cliffs notes:
No boost under these conditions:
1. When in reverse. (hah, no high reverse races!)
2. ECT is too high
3. Drivetrain abuse is detected
4. When you're slowing down
5. Intercooler pump goes bad
6. IAT sensor #2 becomes to high
7. Under heavy load in 1st and 2nd gear above 5800 RPM. So yeah, if your pushing your car hard in the first 2 gears, shift before 5800 RPMs since the PCM will start to disable the boost (open the bypass valve).

The paragragh below that explains how the engine and PCM regulate the boost under what conditions. Pretty self explanatory.

The parts under that just tell you what could go wrong and with what result to the engine.

Not necessarily. The RPM rises so quickly there is likely still air being forced into the engine by the time you hit 6500RPM.

I drive a 1992 Lumina Z34 (3.4L DOHC) that has fuel cut-off at 6500 RPM I think and it still pulls to it's 7000RPM redline.
