Please don't flame me. Its my first stick, first time ever at a drag, and I've never launched.. Anyways, first run in the 1/8th mile...reaction=.4160 60 ft= 3.0580 330ft=7.5262 and 1/8th=10.8288 at 74.61 mph. Im really here just to have fun and not break anything. And remember its my first time so take it easy on me

 

Well, at least you can't get any worse on the 60'.

Its hard to get the launch down isn't it? I've got alot of passes down the track, and I still can't get anything satisfactory. Eventually it will come...


And I definately agree that its all about having fun and being able to drive home. lol

Well, I went to the track today and did horrible. My clutch was slipping badly, but I take full resposibility for my awful 60' times.

 

wow......next time launch around 2000 through 2600 at the most ......my fastest 1/8 on street tires was a 8.78 at 81

 

Second run ran a 10.00944 yay haha I suck

Its all good. Me and NamedGobalt were pretty bad our first time in our cars. He got like a 13.2 one time, lol. But thats only b/c he gave up on traction and half assed it down the track. The first day I ever raced my SS, with my current mods (including my 19"s), I ran a 9.7 @ 74mph. Could've been alot better.

And my buddy mike with a yellow ss first run broke his axle. Not good at all so idk if ima run anymore tonight lol

Nope, eddyville.... newton closed cuz they were little bitches and at 11 am they saw a front and cancelled and the front missed us. So we went to eddyville

yeah i broke both axles thank you very much lol, but its no laughing matter now i cant drive my car til the dealership fixes it UNDER WARRANTY lucky me!!!!!! I HATE STICKY TRACKS! so when you gonna send me the pics of my car on the tow truck shs...oh and i got the lecture that you will break it if you race it...and my arguement was no i wont i have launched it a million times...dammit she is good at the "I told you so" dance

yeah got both of em lol the driver side was completly busted in half and the passenger side was actually cracked on the shaft, how i did that is beyond me...specially since im "stock"

 

I feel so left out Yeah eddyville makes me nervous, my fastest run down there was only a 10.3. I didn't like running down there cuz if i break its a LONG ass way back to des moines

what RPMs did you launch at? Hope you didn't break them on the first run......

 

Your the 2nd person i know to snap them at eddyville (in an ss/sc) which is why i am very hesitant to drop it too high in my LS and why i couldn't get a better time when i was down there a couple weeks ago for midnight madness.

I launched at 2300 which is just below where i launch on the street cause i was hesitant about launchin at that track i have heard horror stories from that place...and yes IT WAS MY FIRST RUN!!!! which pisses me off even more, 20 bucks on my best et was 5 1/2 min at 4.3 mph lol what a great night!

 

That is why i don't go there very often because i have heard the track is extremely sticky and have known of people snapping axels there. I prefer newton because it is alot like the street. once you get your car back you should go there, its alot of fun and supposedly if they get enough support they will try and get a 1/4 track put in (so the rumor goes).

 

i have it back now and i do plan on runnin newton from now on, no more eddyville that track was way too sticky, hell i stuck to the track when i got on the ground to hook up the tow rope to my car...i wont be down there this weekend but i will be runnin in newton next weekend, maybe a bunch of us could get together and roll up there together

 

Damn, i am going to newton tonight (providing the weather holds out) but i won't be next weekend cuz the ****** boss scheduled me for next friday even though it says on the sheet under friday availability "off"
