Battery trouble...help!
Battery trouble...help!
so, for some reason, ive had to jump start my car a lot recenty...i mean like 6 times in the last 5 days. Once i get it started, it runs fine, so i dont believe its alternator related. My wideband is tapped to a switched power source, my headunit is set to a constant power source, but has been for many months now with no issue (when off, only one small LED is illuminated), and I have a AEM F/IC installed. So I think either my battery cant hold a charge for some reason, since the car must be off for near 12 hours to require a jumpstart, or my shop accidentally wired my FIC to a constant power source.
heres the thing though. My FIC has been installed for a good amount of time now, and the battery worked fine. then one day, my car had trouble idling, so i took it in. They found it to be a defective wiring harness, so they replaced it and re soldered it all back together, and thats when my car started having power troubles. Now, they knew the first time they wired it to use a switched power source, but do you guys think they might have forgot when re-wiring it? or is my battery just a POS and needs to be replaced?
Im replacing the battery reguardless, as i have a decent (2000w) sound system thats about to be wired, on top of all my other peripheral devices like piggybacks and gauges.
so the second part of this question is what is the best battery i can buy in terms of power capacity, and ability to hold a charge over time?
