I've put money down on a new 2008 SS/TC about last thursday, and the dealership called me today and gave me an update that said GM won't give out any information besides they have stopped shipment on them because of:

"Undisclosed Quality Control Reasons"

and he has no idea when the cars will be here.

so does anyone know whats wrong or when the cars will be shipping or on hold til?

Sorry if this is a repost, but my dad isnt to happy and I just dont want him telling me to forget about it.

and again sorry if this is a repost, but I didnt year the latest news, I know some clip was to small or something before but I thought they fixed that.

This is the first I've heard about a shipping stoppage due to "Quality Issues"

Tman58 got the car, and the turbo wasn't working off the lot. Dealership has had the car for three weeks trying to fix the issue, and he got fed up and walked away from the deal.

 

Well Im paying for it, but I dont want my dad to do what Tman58 did!

I mean I dont want to have my car and something go wrong with it, but I dont want to wait the whole summer just to have itt.

and thats what GM told my salesman, I think my dads calling later, he might get more out of him, hopefully.

 

damn...i smell recalls on some of the ones that were already shipd out an taken off the lot

 

there are a few hundred sitting in the repair lot at lordstown (local). definitely not the first "quality control issue" i've heard of. they are definitely still working the bugs out of these cars

 

On the bright side at least its not like the Ford GT recall with the cast aluminum control arms!

 

so what Im getting out of this, its going to be a little while until I get mine?

 

maybe...maybe not....imo i say wait till all the bugs are workd out...i would hate to bring my car to the shop every month or so due to a recall or something blew that they didnt check out that would show up on the recall list later on down the line....but thats just me tho...good thing out of it is..if you get on go str8 2 a dyno an get numbers for us...if you blow something blaim it on gm for not working out all there fck ups

 

lol i dunno mine has been perfecto so far but i only have 300 miles on it as of yet cuz im stuck at work all damn day every day

 

why are you letting your dad say nvm about it if you paid for it... obviously you are not paying for it then because if you are your dad has no rights to say you cant have it or not.

ahhh well I do still live here, and I kinda have to listen to him, if he doesnt think this car is going to be right then I cant arguee with him.

but he just got off the phone with the guy and he asked me if I wanted to wait and I said yes so hes fine with that, and we are waiting for GM to ship these out.

and yes Im paying for this, Im not going to work for nothing.

 

lol i know i knocked on some wood yaman weve been swamped at work people need to stop getting into accidents too many claims for so little time.....

but jay man its definitley worth it so ya just be patient and it should be to u shortly

 

ohhh I knoww. its just been hectic this past week because he didnt tell me it was on hold so everyday this week I thoguht it would be coming in. But no matter what Im waiting for this car!
