View Full Version : 2010 New Cobalt with NO DISGUISE!! 2000Firehawk 06-13-2008, 01:38 AM http://www.leftlanenews.com/wp-content/plugins/iimage-gallery.php?idpost=7686&idg=1&idi=1 forced_induction 06-13-2008, 01:40 AM looks like a big aveo sedan diablo9287 06-13-2008, 01:43 AM gayyy HackAbuse 06-13-2008, 01:44 AM I'm pretty sure that's a foreign vehicle that i've seen before jimbos'ss 06-13-2008, 01:44 AM damn could we get some pics of the coupe version, the sedan looks gay as hell! Killa SS 06-13-2008, 01:47 AM WTF? hell to the fuck that. haha im glad i got an 06' REIGN SS 06-13-2008, 01:48 AM ...mmm sexy :barf: SilverSS/SC 06-13-2008, 01:48 AM The front end is borderline scary .....the headlight shape isnt even uniform to really anything on the front of the car . The windshield back looks really good , but...not sure I understand how GM can keep pumping out these knockout designs and end up with a front end like that . Fail in pontiac aztec fashion , cover that thing back up please . senior_brown 06-13-2008, 01:49 AM gross BLAZIN07SS 06-13-2008, 01:49 AM eeewww...looks like a saab 9-3 that got punched in the face bshoe421 06-13-2008, 01:51 AM i think that the front end is almost based off the new malibu...kinda HackAbuse 06-13-2008, 01:51 AM I am 99.98% sure that's not the new Cobalt, it's a European car. Look at the picture of the back end. It's got a rear "fog light" on the back left side, as required by European law. 07hhr 06-13-2008, 01:52 AM nice looking Accord HackAbuse 06-13-2008, 01:52 AM Also the cutout for the rear plate is much wider, as if it was designed for European plates as well an0malous 06-13-2008, 01:53 AM ill wait for a look at a coupe with ss styling before i judge it, but so far, I dont like the change HackAbuse 06-13-2008, 01:54 AM Please read my posts. BLAZIN07SS 06-13-2008, 01:55 AM Please read my posts. interesting points hack, i guess we will just have to wait and see SilverSS/SC 06-13-2008, 01:57 AM I am 99.98% sure that's not the new Cobalt, it's a European car. Look at the picture of the back end. It's got a rear "fog light" on the back left side, as required by European law. Im kinda with you ...I noticed the rear fogs too , this very well could be the Daewoo version . GM DOES test overseas cars in the USA . Theres no way to really tell though as they both wear a bowtie . BULLETSSMOKE 06-13-2008, 01:58 AM and HOW do you "know" thats a cobalt? SilverSS/SC 06-13-2008, 02:02 AM and HOW do you "know" thats a cobalt? Well its either the Cobalt or its Daewoo cousin . That car is a new global Delta platform car and its definately not a Astra or the new Saab 9-1 and its way to big to a be subcompact like a Aveo . Your options to what it is are obvious . EcoBoost 06-13-2008, 02:03 AM Even so... They've been know to toss the 'spy photogs' a false bone from time to time just to stir the pot. Additionally, there's no assurance that what you see here is the final production version anyway. Driveline and system validation means dozens of mules in use, and there's no guarantee any of them look like the final product. Styling can be adapted right up to the end. We see what they want us to see, and it's rarely the real thing at this stage! HackAbuse 06-13-2008, 02:05 AM IMO it appears to be the next Aveo BLAZIN07SS 06-13-2008, 02:07 AM IMO it appears to be the next Aveo i agree hack JRelly 06-13-2008, 02:07 AM I remember reading another one of these threads where someone with inside info came in and said this was not the cobalt SilverSS/SC 06-13-2008, 02:21 AM This car is too big to be an Aveo . You are definately looking at a Cobalt , a Daewoo Lacetti or a Chevy Optra . All 3 will be the same car with their own front and rear styling to separate them and the Euro cars will have many more engine options . DeftonesFan867 06-13-2008, 02:29 AM Look at the quality of the image and how nothing "lines" up in front. This is nothing more than a photoshop. SilverSS/SC 06-13-2008, 02:36 AM Look at the quality of the image and how nothing "lines" up in front. This is nothing more than a photoshop. From anyone other than Brenda Priddy I might believe that , I highly doubt Chris Doane would risk his credibilty by putting his name on a ps . DeftonesFan867 06-13-2008, 03:13 AM From anyone other than Brenda Priddy I might believe that , I highly doubt Chris Doane would risk his credibilty by putting his name on a ps . I was thinking that actually, Chris is a cool cat, but is it possible this was a photoshopped pic of his. Not that HE did it, but someone else did. eurochevy 06-13-2008, 03:16 AM what a piece of shit..i hope that/ this 2010 car tanks and stops production after a year its so fugly its rediculous Mnatvyc1223 06-13-2008, 03:22 AM i hope to god they dont ever make a production model of that car... DeftonesFan867 06-13-2008, 03:32 AM Now I remember why I don't post in the other sections much anymore... Victory06 06-13-2008, 11:44 AM This car is too big to be an Aveo . You are definately looking at a Cobalt , a Daewoo Lacetti or a Chevy Optra . All 3 will be the same car with their own front and rear styling to separate them and the Euro cars will have many more engine options . Agreed. I think with the Chevy grille it's pretty much assured that it's an Optra or Cobalt. They are all going to be the same car on the new Global Small Car platform (formerly called Delta II). It looks "foreign" because all of them were designed at GMDAT in Korea. I'm going to reserve judgement until I see better pictures, but I don't think it's that bad. Just different. pimpnwink 06-13-2008, 11:47 AM ehh i have my 06 for now then maybe a camaro ss soon but boy is that looking like shit lol. It does look like its a European model and probably is God do i hope Top Gear doesnt get their hands on it haha schamsy 06-13-2008, 03:35 PM It looks crosseyed:lol: blackedout06 06-13-2008, 03:39 PM Yeah, that thing looks horrible!!! I will stick with my ride. G85 SS 06-13-2008, 03:42 PM European or American......either way it's fugly RedCavyRS99 06-13-2008, 04:22 PM Doesnt matter what car its going to be its ugly. silentd 06-13-2008, 04:29 PM I am 99.98% sure that's not the new Cobalt, it's a European car. Look at the picture of the back end. It's got a rear "fog light" on the back left side, as required by European law. then how come the disguised ones have the same lights but wiht michigan plates? SilverSS/SC 06-13-2008, 05:54 PM then how come the disguised ones have the same lights but wiht michigan plates? As said earlier , GM does test foreign market cars in the us . The G8's initial testing was done under the radar with mid eastern Chevy lumina's and AU holden commodores . Heres what crusing around in a GM test fleet right now out in colorado . Holden HSV R8 and HSV Clubsport . http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk241/garyfrisco/HoldenR8a.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk241/garyfrisco/HoldenR8d.jpg This Turbo test car is running around with them too :) Not sure what their testing with it though . Theirs few GXP Solstices as well , so mostly likely performance stuff for the LNF . http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk241/garyfrisco/ColboltSS.jpg The Camaro's initial test car was a chopped down Chevy Lumina , dont always assume what u see is apparant as it may seem . an0malous 06-13-2008, 05:56 PM ill take both the HSVs please. now.... im not kidding, fuckin hand em over... NWAE Cobalt 06-13-2008, 05:57 PM i dun like it...i want round tail lights and 2 doors damnit!!! springerdesigner 06-13-2008, 05:58 PM ewww... XM15 06-13-2008, 06:01 PM   :poke: :barf: That is all. thought 06-13-2008, 06:03 PM I'm not sure that's enough to just say "It's European", cause GM may want to offer it worldwide anyway. I'm reminded of the Pontiac Montana plate holders.... JohnsRallyYellowSS 06-13-2008, 06:07 PM Accorionbalt= Looks like the grafted an accord frontend to an ION sedan rearend Victory06 06-13-2008, 06:36 PM As said earlier , GM does test foreign market cars in the us . The G8's initial testing was done under the radar with mid eastern Chevy lumina's and AU holden commodores . Heres what crusing around in a GM test fleet right now out in colorado . Holden HSV R8 and HSV Clubsport. Like you said, testing for G8 - an American market car. GXP hardware is being tested in Holden bodies. Your argument actually supports the fact that this is the next Cobalt. The Holdens aren't just "like" the G8, they ARE the G8 with some mile bodywork differences. I don't know why everyone's so worried, I'm sure the coupe will be sportier just like it is in the current generation. chevysssc 06-13-2008, 06:41 PM did a nissan sentra have sex with an aveo? DeftonesFan867 06-14-2008, 05:18 AM The picture is real and not a chop. Chris said it looks bad because of the distance the shot was taken from and it was digitally enlarged. I have also learned that GME is watching over the development process of the new Cobalt. So expect handling as good as that of the Astra. domin8_gt 06-14-2008, 06:12 AM I'm banking on Aveo. Cars get larger as they get updated. They lines look more like Aveo, and it is a Korea car...what is an Aveo??? It is just a rebadged Suzuki Aerio. edit: after seeing this (http://jalopnik.com/assets/resources/2008/05/2010-Chevrolet-Cobalt-big.php) I take back what I said and think this could be the new Cobalt sedan. Bad move GM. If you want to remain a leader than do not follow a follower like Nissan. Archie 06-14-2008, 03:41 PM I actually like the headlights and the "brake cooling intakes" on the lower front sides. The rest of the car is pure crap. it looks like it has a D pillar for christ sake!! What GM needs to do is turn up the bottom edge of the rear side windows. bring in the sides of the body a bit, add some more fender flare. Bring the sides of the hood up a little. AND GET RID OF THE 15" CHEVY BADGE!!! It should not be the same size as a Suburban. I can handle a 8" one though. And I don't know about the roofline, something just doesn't look right. The grill isn't too bad, but still needs some work. I would like to see a recessed grill. OriGinaL Condo 06-14-2008, 03:50 PM Its yucky :( ViSiONZ 06-14-2008, 04:54 PM looks like a big aveo sedan X2. & It's fugly! tombomb 06-14-2008, 04:56 PM windshield looks SOOOOOO funny, how embarrassing tiny 06-15-2008, 05:13 PM looks like a honda accord mixture Red06LS 06-15-2008, 05:19 PM looks like a big aveo sedan That along wiht a little Nissan Sentra mixed in. (ewww...) SUKXOST 06-16-2008, 03:31 AM if this IS the 2010+cobalt......GM went fuckin retarded! THAT my friends is..... U G L Y ugly! FASTL61 06-16-2008, 03:56 AM gross berto 06-16-2008, 04:02 AM It Looks Like A Pissed Off Aveo I Hate It GSMiller 06-16-2008, 04:09 AM That looks like the retard baby of a new Malibu and Aveo sedan. domin8_gt 06-16-2008, 04:19 AM I came across a pic today of a Saturn Ion sedan. For some strange reason it reminded me of this stupid car. Just look at the rear doors. Especially the corner of the bottom of the window towards the very back. This realization made me sigh even more. http://www.familycar.com/RoadTests/SaturnIon/Images/LeftRear2.jpg http://jalopnik.com/assets/resources/2008/05/2010-Chevrolet-Cobalt-big.jpg Blackout06LS 06-16-2008, 04:22 AM Gay as fuck. /Cobalt in 2010. It'll probably get redesigned or something probably. Victory06 06-16-2008, 01:57 PM They lines look more like Aveo, and it is a Korea car...what is an Aveo??? It is just a rebadged Suzuki Aerio. The Aerio is unrelated to the Aveo. The Aveo evolved from the Daewoo Kalos, and it is rebadged and sold as the Suzuki Swift in Canada, but there isn't any other Suzuki connection. The Aerio was a fully Suzuki engineered car. And Suzuki is Japanese, not Korean, despite the presence of several former Daewoos in their U.S. lineup. Suzuki will be slowly phasing those out as GM has recently divested most of its Suzuki ownership. |
