The front end is borderline scary .....the headlight shape isnt even uniform to really anything on the front of the car . The windshield back looks really good , but...not sure I understand how GM can keep pumping out these knockout designs and end up with a front end like that . Fail in pontiac aztec fashion , cover that thing back up please .

I am 99.98% sure that's not the new Cobalt, it's a European car.

Look at the picture of the back end. It's got a rear "fog light" on the back left side, as required by European law.

Also the cutout for the rear plate is much wider, as if it was designed for European plates as well

 

ill wait for a look at a coupe with ss styling before i judge it,

Im kinda with you ...I noticed the rear fogs too , this very well could be the Daewoo version . GM DOES test overseas cars in the USA . Theres no way to really tell though as they both wear a bowtie .

Well its either the Cobalt or its Daewoo cousin . That car is a new global Delta platform car and its definately not a Astra or the new Saab 9-1 and its way to big to a be subcompact like a Aveo . Your options to what it is are obvious .

 

Even so...

They've been know to toss the 'spy photogs' a false bone from time to time just to stir the pot.

Additionally, there's no assurance that what you see here is the final production version anyway. Driveline and system validation means dozens of mules in use, and there's no guarantee any of them look like the final product. Styling can be adapted right up to the end. We see what they want us to see, and it's rarely the real thing at this stage!

 

IMO it appears to be the next Aveo

I remember reading another one of these threads where someone with inside info came in and said this was not the cobalt

 

This car is too big to be an Aveo . You are definately looking at a Cobalt , a Daewoo Lacetti or a Chevy Optra . All 3 will be the same car with their own front and rear styling to separate them and the Euro cars will have many more engine options .
