Koni is currently developing a full coil-over set for the cobalt. They just need my car for testing then it will be on the market. They told me the drop will be about 1 1/2" - 2" drop. I'll keep everyone informed as it come available.

koni doesnt make coilovers, they develo suspension kits which consist of a standard drop spring and an adjustable sport shock. coilovers are fully adjustable height and what they make isnt a ciolover setup.

Not the irritate you, but I want to set the record straight. Koni does make full coilovers. I know this because I have been in the Koni USA factory and I saw a rack full of coilovers they had made for the NHRA. These were height adjustable up to 4". They also tried to sell me a custom set they made for a Cav that was full coilovers with a height adjustment up to 2 3/4" with a 2" drop spring on them. Most people never get to see what some of these aftermarket part manufactures actually make. I didn't know that Koni also makes struts for Caterpillar and John Deere, wouldn't have ever thought that from a performance manufacter. The only reason I am saying Koni is making coilovers for the Cobalt is that is what they told me. In the past week I talked to the Koni design development director about if they were going to make anything for the Cobalt and that was his comment back to me. Yes they will also have just the strut and spring package for the Cobalt, per his words. They are waiting for the mount castings to arrive in Holland and then they will ship the final design to the US office. Once arriving in the US they will be mounted to my Cobalt SS for final testing and adjustment. These parts are going to be sold thru Koni direct or thru a part distributor. The schedule for this happening is testing in the next 2-3 months and release hopefully before the fall. I will ask Koni to supply me with complete performance information when available, and post it here. As I said before, I don't want to irritate you or anyone, it sounds like you are very knowledgeable about suspensions, but everything we see in the performance distributors catalogs is not always the complete line that is manufactured. I look forward to many more discussion about suspensions, and I think everyone here has good input to shared.

I might try to vy for Tein to make a kit for the cobalts, I love their suspension kits (my freind had full coilover on his MR2) handling is unbelievable. I'm going to email them later and see how they respond.

Ahh well I like them, there are better companies but my freind worked for them for a few years and have good experiences there. It seems they know what they are doing regardless, eibach and koni I say are about equal in quality.

B+G suspension, H&R, and KW suspension, are my choice when it comes to suspension. thats as far as springs and full coilover kits, as far as shocks koni is the only way to go.
