RPM's Jumping?

Ok i was racing lastnight, and i was in 4th gear. When i got up to about 5500 rpms it started jumping like it was miss firing. So i put some ngk spark plugs in it, and it still does it every now and then. What is it doing? Im thinking that maybe i got bad gas? I put some more gas in it, and put some fuel injector cleaner in there. Has anyone else had this proplem?

When idle my rpms jump up a little then go back to normal, my car is at gm right now getting fixed, and checked out.

This is an ecu/pcm problem. A lot of us have had this problem on full throttle runs in 3rd/4th gear. It'll give you a dead spot for a bit, lose about 500-1000 rpms even though you're nowhere near redline and your foot is still on the gas. I can only describe is as a loss of gas/spark. It's not your spark plugs dude. It may have something to do with the factory injectors being maxed out or a tuning issue. Hopefully the GM staged flash will fix it.

in my 2.2 I've had the rpm stay at like 2500 with the clutch in and my foot off the throttle, it drops back after like two seconds

i had an 05' cobalt ls 2.2 and at idle once and a while the idle would hunt up and down and then stabilize. i traded it in a week ago for an 06' ss s/c with g85 and sunroof and i have only driven it 300 km's and have noticed the same idle hunting that my 05' ls 2.2 did. not too concerned though, unless it becomes an issue.
