RPM's Jumping?
RPM's Jumping?
Ok i was racing lastnight, and i was in 4th gear. When i got up to about 5500 rpms it started jumping like it was miss firing. So i put some ngk spark plugs in it, and it still does it every now and then. What is it doing? Im thinking that maybe i got bad gas? I put some more gas in it, and put some fuel injector cleaner in there. Has anyone else had this proplem?
yes......... I have the same problem, i dunno what it is?
running to lean mabe? fuel injectors max point i dunno but i hate it im gonna try to change my plugs tomarrow or clean them if they have stuf on them.
sound like you hit vtec for about 1 second

When i'm driving normal and shift between 2k and 2,750 rpms i notice the the needle jumps up to 3k (250rpms from where i shift) and then back to normal but when i'm on it i never notice it jumping
This is an ecu/pcm problem. A lot of us have had this problem on full throttle runs in 3rd/4th gear. It'll give you a dead spot for a bit, lose about 500-1000 rpms even though you're nowhere near redline and your foot is still on the gas. I can only describe is as a loss of gas/spark. It's not your spark plugs dude. It may have something to do with the factory injectors being maxed out or a tuning issue. Hopefully the GM staged flash will fix it.

i had an 05' cobalt ls 2.2 and at idle once and a while the idle would hunt up and down and then stabilize. i traded it in a week ago for an 06' ss s/c with g85 and sunroof and i have only driven it 300 km's and have noticed the same idle hunting that my 05' ls 2.2 did. not too concerned though, unless it becomes an issue.
