How come the 2.4L OBX header comes with a downpipe and is the same price at the 2.2L OBX header which only comes with the heads?

QUESTION:
why does ebay specify two different OBX headers? one says it will only fit the 2.4L and comes with a downpipe for aprx. $260 shipped

the other specifies only fitting the 2.2L and only comes with the heads for the same damn price.

is there any difference in the headers or are they he same? here are links to the auctions.

Ok let me help you out with this one.
Hold your Guns everyone this is a legit question IMO regarding fitment

The 2.4 OBX Header & Downpipe will only fit that model because of that solid coolant line that's in the way on the 2.2 cobalts (There's many posts about headers not fitting the 2.2)
If you move the coolant line or dent it and go with this catless setup it's going to sound loud and raspy.

The other OBX is just a mid-lenght header with a Ball & Socket Flange that you can weld to a stock LSJ downpipe (Look in my Gallery) or a custom Downpipe with Highflow Cat if you want

 

the first one for the 2.4 will fit, all you have to do is hit the coolant line with a rachet to move it out of the way like i did, gave it a few whacks and it moved...vibrant fit perfectly, the first one is fine, primaries are nice, its a ZZP replica...will fit fine, the second requires modification to fit, i would go with the first, will be louder, but def a better choice

does anyone have this application on their 2.4.? are the OBX headers and dowpipe good quality..or are they not worth the money?

i decided against these beacuse of the raspy sound clip loaded in the 2.4 section, and bad reviews. I bought an LSJ DP and header. thanks

 

its only raspy if you dont get a cat lol and have a stock exhaust...
