So I plugged my car into hp tuners to see if it would pass emissions this week and it says evap system not complete? what does this mean? any info would be appreciated...

 

The car hasn't recently entered the conditions to test the evap system. Therefore, the test is 'incomplete'.

 

check ur gas cap..

lol, as funny as that sounds that actually happened to my 03 cavalier someone else filled the tank for me and didnt put the cap on right and a day later it threw a CEL, i was flipping out because i babied that car and i was looking everywhere lol, ended up being the gas cap, wasted like 2 hours of my life on something that stupid.

It's an impossible to trigger cycle in these cars. In PA one of these tests can be incomplete and you still pass...check your state At least I think it's THAT particular test.

 

Omega is right, the conditions havent been met to run the full evaporative emissions OBDII test. That is all.

 

did you recently reset your codes?

 

i had a CEL for over a year from a bad gas cap... BTW... dealer replaced it for free

 

well i recently disconnected the battery to install headlights, but it was doin the same thing before that

 

its all about the gas cap

 

yo bring your car down to reading...I would be able to get it inspected for you... Thats up to u though...
