Man I REALLY need to get my own gear to go camping. Last time I went it was with my best friend last May. Awesome trip though, we drove down to do the Tail of the Dragon and ended up camping at Deal's Gap. I <3 camping.

Yup it was about a 6 hour drive, 2 and a half hours from any town, made it hard when I had to go to the emergency room though lol. That was the only shitty part about the trip.

Actually it's just a Nikon coolpix, not sure the exact model number, not bad for a $140 lil camera lol. I'm looking into getting a d40x, my uncle has the d80 WOOOOWWW nice camera.

Yeah, there was a bear running around with a couple cubs too. We just threw away our tent, had it for 10 years time for a new one that doesn't take 3 people to put up haha.

wow thats a close encounter! Did you guys have a gun? The woods in those pictures looks totally different than it does here. It looks like the forest from the movies.

Funny you say that, I can honestly not remember a single family vacation where we didn't spend it in a tent vs a hotel. That's just the way my mom and dad liked it and the way they raised me. I absolutely LOVE camping. There's no better way to put yourself at ease. This is gonna sound weird, but especially when it's raining (after you set up camp of course!!!!!!!!!).....it's just soooooooooo calming.

Well we were about to go in the tent and go to bed, I was like 5 feet from my side and I hear people screaming bloody murder and yelling "GO GO GO GO!" They sounded like they were about 20 feet from the tent, so I shine my flashlight in that direction, and this huge ******* bear is running through our site so I haul ass in the tent and it took me FOREVER to zip it up. So if a bear had been chasing me I woulda been dead, and yes I know even if I had zipped it up it probably would have gotten in the tent anyway lol. So I go in tell my dad, he is half asleep stumbles out of the tent with an axe and my 2 lil cousins walk up and I guess there was ANOTHER bear down where they were. It was a loud uneasy night.

And it always rains about half an hour after it actually stops because it's still dripping from the trees. I like it when it rains, we always make hot dogs and pork and beans in the tent haha. I love the mountains above anywhere else, definitely prefer that to any hotel.
