Noob, random N2O questions, and NOS Sniper Kit.

Here are some random nitrous related questions that I have:

How long does it take to install a wet kit on an ss/sc? (I'm thinking about getting the sniper kit)

How do you get the pressure out of the lines if you dont have a purge kit? is it possible to release the pressure without a purge? I will probably get a purge eventually, but i want to just install the kit and go...but i also dont want pressure in my lines at all times.

I figured out that the fuel line for a wet kit can tap into the schraeder valve on the fuel rail...does the sniper kit come with this valve adapter?

what sort of arming system does the sniper kit come with? is there a toggle switch?

does it come with a WOT switch? What regulates this kit? I really like the price of the sniper kit...but i dont want to spend hundreds of dollars on additional controllers and electronics because it comes with 0 features. The problem i ran into....is i wasn't able to find any detailed information about this kit

I know there is additional safey accessories, and general accessories for nitrous kits...but is this kit solid? i know it comes with everything necessary...but i can't info on exactly what it comes with...thanks in advance for you help!

1. Roughly 4 hours to install, depending on how carefully you hide stuff and your level of competence with such installs.

2. Your lines will bleed down over time if the bottle is closed, so they don't stay under pressure forever. Thats not the purpose of a purge anyway. You can also shut the bottle and spray the car until the nitrous bleeds out.

3. The -4an fuel line in the kit will screw right on to the rail.

4. It comes with and on-off arming switch and a mechanical WOT switch I believe. You would be best served to get a real switch for something unless you just want to manually control it. I do that, and it works, but there are really nice switches out there if you want.
The sniper kit comes with everything you need to spray, and not much for switchgear. You can get anything you need from Holley/NOS, they have a great WOT/TPS window switch that works great with drive-by-wire cars, I put one on my dads truck and it is awesome.

this wot/tps window switch. how much is it? how does it work? is it hard to install? and why is it worth it? i've heard good things about these...but what makes them amazing? i would rather not have a mechanical switch...i already know i want this wot/tps switch...but i just want to know why i should be wanting it.

so...if i simply turn the bottle valve off when i'm not using it...that's it? i dont have to worry about it?

what is -4an? is it just a fitting size term used in nitrous kits? like a model/size of fitting?

A buddy of mine knows ****-tons about installing nitrous kits...so he would be doing the actual install.

oh...and i forgot to ask this before. the fuel/n2o lines plug into this y adapter fogger thing...but where does that go then? do i need that throttle body spacer? where and how does this fuel/n2o mixture actually go INTO the motor? i guess i just need a rough mental picture of how this all goes together.

took me about 4 hours to install everything on my ss/sc with a break in the middle.

How do you get the pressure out of the lines if you dont have a purge kit? is it possible to release the pressure without a purge? I will probably get a purge eventually, but i want to just install the kit and go...but i also dont want pressure in my lines at all times.
italianjoe answered this.

yes.

toggle switch on, then a WOT switch under the gas pedal.

yes it does. the sniper kit is a great kit for the money! i have it and haven't had any problem with it. i also have a NOS purge single line kit also.

I know there is additional safey accessories, and general accessories for nitrous kits...but is this kit solid? i know it comes with everything necessary...but i can't info on exactly what it comes with...thanks in advance for you help!
a window switch would probably be a little more safe. but again, that's italianjoe's territory there.

The Holley WOT/TPS window switch I used is great because it is settable by TPS voltage and rpm on-off in 100rpm increments using 6 dip switches in the box. Its about $120 I think, plus a relay that actually activates the solenoids, but it works so great and it does 100% of what you need.

i actually want to get the NOS silver steel key arming switch. i think it looks pretty sweet. also, it keeps anyone from messing with buttons and switches if they're in the car. pull the key out of your pocket, put it in the key hole (looks like a small lockbox lock) turn the key to arm the system...and you're set. i think it would look pretty badass mounted in between the stereo and HVAC controls.....and.....it's like $35. Also, people dont expect your nitrous system to be a key...so people will see a random key hole in the dash/console....like WTF is that? oh...it's nothing...

http://www.holley.com/15650NOS.asp

i wanna get the sniper kit, this key lock arming switch...and the WOT/TPS window switch.

oh yeah...where does the nozzle attach that sprays the n2o/fuel mixture into the motor? i have a solid idea of how the system works...but how does it get sprayed into the engine? do i need that throttle body spacer?

into the intake if single fogger

or intake manifold if direct port

thanks for the response. i know that with it being a fogger, it would spray into the intake. i was looking for a more detailed answer...like exactly which pre-exiting hole it would go into, if any...or if you have to cut a hole in the intake. so far, i'm understanding that i dont NEED that throttle body spacer to install the fogger....but then where does it go? pics of an installed fogger would be great.

there is no pre-existing hole...you have to tap your intake.

most kits come with a nut that will screw into the hole you tapped and then you screw the nozzle into the nut.

i'd show u pics of mine but I mounted mine on the bottom of my intake so its hard to get a picture of...maybe someone else can chime in there.
