If you can afford the V8 go for it...

An SS/TC will be quicker than a V6 Camaro, but I'd still rather have the Camaro.

I'd get the T/C and use the money you save and make it faster then that heavy old V8

Yeah for the price out of the box. I like the T/C. That V6 Camaro is slower. Put a tune on the T/C and you are in the 13's.

lol you have 16 posts and think ya know everything Doesn't matter what they do a production V8 is always gonna be heavier then a 4 cylinder and the price difference will allow a lot more modding into the T/C to make it go faster, same thing with Cobalt Vs. Mustang GT. Spend the same amount of money and the Cobalt will be faster until you just can't mod the Cobalt that much more.

Weight
Camaro: 3750lbs for the LT & 3860lb for SS w/ a manual tranny.
Cobalt: 2730lbs for LS & 3000lbs (estimated) for the turbocharged.

I think the Cobalt has a significant weight advantage...

The V6 Camaro is estimated to go 0-60 in 5.9-6.1 seconds. So no, it won't be that slow.

Um, no. The lightest Camaro - the LT (V6) manual is listed by Chevy at 3741. The Camaro SS (V8) is 3860 with a manual 3913 with auto.

The Cobalt SS/TC's published weight is 2975. So the V8 Camaro is nearly 1,000 pounds heavier than an SS/TC.

whats the price on the new camaros?

and yes you can buy the new cobalt and put cash into before you reach what the camaro costs, but you put a few bolt ons on the camaro and it will easily keep up if not beat the cobalt IMO.

But if you use the its cheaper arguement why dont you just buy an 98-02 ls1 camaro for 10k roughly and drop 12k into it and have a 500rwhp car easy?

It hasn't been announced yet, but best guess is around 23-24k for an LS and probably 25-6k for an LT/RS with the SS starting just under 30k.

I'd say camaro, but I'd wait til mid-2010 to get one... that way the fervor will die down a little bit. No way you're going o walk away with an SS even CLOSE to sticker for at least a year - look at Mustang and Challenger when they relaunched..

Let me get this straight, youre having trouble deciding between a Cobalt and a Camaro? Are you gay?

Well, you certainly get more car for the money with the Cobalt thogh.

I mean, with the Camaro - you HAVE to buy the SS. The V6 may be no slouch, but if you get the V6 - even if you've got the first one in your town - 9/10 drivers are going to have severe ***** envy and buyers remorse within a few months.

Well ive had 2 camaros and a firebird b4 the cobalt and loved them..but the firebird was my last car and i totaled it so i jsut got a cobalt. The camaro base V6 starts out at like 20,000 but im wanting the V8. But if gas keeps getting higher its gonna be stupid to get the V8..so idk..im leaning more toward camaro now
