Ideas for modifying the stock exhaust.

So here's the situation. I love the sound of the stock exhaust on the SS/SC. Love it. I hate the sound of aftermarket on anything that isnt turbo or v8. No offense to anyone here its just my personal opinion. Only problem is my car is 3 years old now, and the exhaust is looking uglier every day. So I got thinking...

What if I take my muffle off and paint it with black high temp paint. The huge ass stock muffler is the ugliest part, it ruins the clean look of my wingless, debadged cobalt.

So the muffler will now be hidden in the darkness. Now, my tip is losing its shine, and I wouldnt mind something a little more aggressive looking. Nothing huge, but maybe another half inch wider. So i'm thinking I'll buy a tip and have my cousin who is learning to weld weld it on for me.

Thoughts?

I would certainly post before and after pics if I do this project.

Oh, and if anyone could suggest an exhaust tip or even link me to one, that would be greatly appreciated.
