8000k FYI...oh yeah...forgot to mention that only the driver side was installed because it got too late. I'm doing the passenger side tomorrow.
ta2ooedmike 09-02-2008, 10:37 PM holy bright....looks good

X2 :twothumbs
jar05g 09-03-2008, 08:24 AM Thanks guys. I'm going to put the passenger side in today, and then tonight I'm going to aim them. I'll let you know how much they light up the road. I know some people worry about the light output past 6000k. I was very pleased with them!
vB00STw 09-03-2008, 08:26 AM my friend with a trans am doesnt use use his headlights anymore at night. His foglight HIDS are soo bright he doesnt need them. Any no, he doesnt care about blinding people... :thumbsdow

light output dosnt get to much dimmer after 6K actually its 5300 is the brightest you can get, anything higher in the kelvin scale is actually dimmer. 8k is pretty "smurf" colored but not that bad, i have seen 12k on a daily driver....in reflectors... now thats bad.
glen229 09-03-2008, 11:37 AM thanks GOD there in projectors, now just get them aimed rite
theres no issues with running them in the stock headlights as long as you dont aim them straight in the air
wardzach2007 09-03-2008, 11:38 AM theres no issues with running them in the stock headlights as long as you dont aim them straight in the air
Your statement makes no sense.
glen229 09-03-2008, 11:43 AM people always say you must have projectors to use HIDs which is untrue... you wont blind people or cause an annoying glare if you dont aim the headlights up in the air... like everybody that lives around me does lol
does that clear what i was trying to say up ?

there will always be way more glare and useless light for HID's in reflectors housings as opposed to projectors where they belong.

Oh, okay... I know what you're trying to say. I would also would of accepted a period.

True, projectors AIM the light futher and produce more visiblility.
glen229 09-03-2008, 01:47 PM lol sorry man
JERMzSS 09-03-2008, 01:54 PM Can we a pic of the cut off line? Im wanting those headlights with HIDs too but i hear the 1st gens have the best cut off line.
jar05g 09-03-2008, 02:12 PM Yeah. I've heard the same thing too. I'm going tomorrow night to my buddy's apartment. There are a lot of white walls where I can park my car in front of to aim. I'll take a picture then. To give you an idea though, the cutoff is kind of like a check mark. It's flat in the middle..then the sides shoot up.

ya the cutoff on those are weird, completely different style from the first gens, there aimed slightly different with the line in the middle being even on both headlights and the edge going up. allot of luxery cars have this style cutoff. mine is the other classic style that i LOVE.
mine are ___________/------------------______________/-----------------

jar05g 09-03-2008, 09:48 PM Alright...so I was driving tonight with the new lights and on bumps I could see the light on the street move around too...like the light was moving. I know the light is a little loose inside...but the only movement it can do is spin around...I know for a fact that it can't come out. The bulb was just a little different in size so the clamp that holds the bulb down didn't fit perfect. Is this ok that the light moves? If not, what can I put in there to keep it still? Some kind of glue or something?

How about you get the right size bulb?
glen229 09-03-2008, 10:08 PM i wouldnt use glue... just because it would make a mess if you burned a bulb...
AedioN 09-03-2008, 10:08 PM Those look sick.

Actually, 4300k is the brightest you can get. :cssNET:
Anyone running HID's notice a drop in battery voltage at idle?
PinaSS 09-03-2008, 10:22 PM Looks good bro. Ur planning on putting HID on the fogs.
people always say you must have projectors to use HIDs which is untrue... you wont blind people or cause an annoying glare if you dont aim the headlights up in the air... like everybody that lives around me does lol
does that clear what i was trying to say up ?
true, everyone here has HID on there stock headlights from trucks to cars and doesnt blind me. They just have to be aimed properly
very nice set up.
jar05g 09-03-2008, 10:36 PM Those look sick.
Thanks bro! I finally got them both put in and aimed. And for whoever said get the right size bulb, I did. H7 goes in 2nd gen. They're fine. I love these lights. 8000k FTW!!!! I don't know if I'm going to put them in the fogs. Is it really worth it? I mean I don't use my fogs that much.

I notice when I first start my car that the HIDs get super bright and then go back down to normal brightness.

That's normal. High pressure sodium bulbs, or industrial ones that are bright and hot kinda do the same thing. Consider it as charging the bulb.
neodude101 09-04-2008, 12:38 AM I notice when I first start my car that the HIDs get super bright and then go back down to normal brightness.
Yeah, mine do that too. It gets a lot of attention if you're driving down the road and turn them on, like at stoplights and such. First time I saw a set of HIDs come on, I was pretty mesmerized, too. It was a BMW, I believe. I think there's a slight change in color, too, when they first come on.
liljone 09-04-2008, 03:35 AM on my 1st gen had to drill a hole to make the bulb fit dunno about gen 2.
