No... I HAD A co-driver for my car, but he had to back out...
THEN, I was going to co-drive Trevor Hill's R32 if he went, but since he was out of the running for Pro Solo Finale, he decided not to go to nationals.
He DID offer to rent me the R32 for nationals, but I didn't want that responsibilty.

I am keeping the Sol-ZOK. I never completely "finished" the setup. We'll see what happens with the Cobalt during the next week.

Cobalt wins DS in Tire Rack SCCA Pro Solo Finale!
Topeka, Kansas - Sept. 12/13
Kevin Dietz, of Federal Way, Washington took first in D Stock with a 2008 Cobalt SS running on Hoosier tires. Cal Craner, of Idaho Falls, Idaho took fourth in a 2008 Cobalt SS. Looks like the SSTC is very competitive in stock class autocross. Only minor changes to pure stock car preparation is allowed. The cars are, however, allowed to run very sticky race-style tires; hence the Hoosiers.
The Tire Rack Solo Nationals are coming up next week, with more action in autocross competition. (Pros use a christmas tree, drag racing start on nearly identical mirror courses; the Nationals use a one car on course style run with competitor initiated starts.)
Good job Kevin and Cal! Good luck in the Nats!

Due to the moonsoon conditions, Kevin was forced to run Hoosier "wets".
Cal was on the stock Continentals.
For the race tomorrow, we are on the Kumho 710 which is our favorite tire on this car.
Kumho has manufactured "wet" tires too but they are not stock class legal this year.
Wish us luck!

Kevin took third. I had a bad first day and had to back off on run 3 to get a clean run.
Cones are weighing heavily in many classes. Lots of people with Championship winning times until you add the cones..
Results are up over at www.scca.org

Congrats to Kevin for taking 3rd overall in DS. Cones were many by alot of drivers on the east course and that hurt chances for many... I had 1 clean run on Tuesday and I think 2 clean runs on Wednesday.
My car's times were well off pace, but not nearly as bad as last year. Always fun when people come up talking to me about the car and how they're looking forward to seeing it finish well, until I tell them I'm the guy in the SC car...
Then they look and say "Oh... sorry, well hope you drive well anyway"

Think some of the believers that the SC's potential wasn't too far off the turbo's were silenced when Cal and Kevin's times posted on Tuesday.... I had a few come up and state that it was time to ditch a SC SS and get the turbo car if you wanted to compete.
It was good to meet Kevin and Cal, but FastMike ( or Mid-pack Mike as some were harrassing him about at Orleans that night were calling him ) was elusive and never got to meet him...
Great job guys and see you next season. I won't be in the SS if all works out... I will be in SuperStock in a Z06, or FStock in a Mustang of some sort.
