cracking on tires? true or false?

cracking on tires? true or false?

if you let your tires sit for a long time,
aka
till spring
do i have the chance of the tire cracking?

you mean like dry rot? it would be best to put the car up on blocks and take most of the air out of the tires.

my car has been in storage like that for 8 months, just took it out and it was just fine.

if you just park it and let it sit, you may have some issues.

naw i mean, like.
i just bought my car off my dad.. but he cant buy a car till
spring so i get it then..
i just bought 1200 new wheels and tires.
and i have the stock wheels on right now, and i wanna know if
i just hold the new rims in like my garage.. stacked up... will they dry rot?

Not from one season.......but if you're concerned, just put each of them in a garbage bag and tie them closed. By the way, since I sold those to you, just stop by the shop and I'll give you some tire bags for them.

make sure you don't let them sit on a bare concrete floor. can you get a wooden pallet? stack them on that, and if you can't use some thick blocks of wood and then put a peice of cardboard in between each one.

I use to drive my Honda S2000 on foam blocks that were about 2 inches thick. Worked perfect every winter. Just don't let the tires sit on a hard surface.

right now they are sitting in my room on my carpet stacked up.
should i let a lil air out?

lay them down on their side, not on a cold ground (like an unheated garage) and you should be fine for the winter.
