? to those who have the TTR Motor Mount

I just installed mine tonight and there is more vibration...I was expecting this much.
What I wasn't expecting is the dramatic increase in vibration/frequency right around 2k rpm.
It's much worse than anywhere else in the rpm range.
Anyone else notice this?

I have one to install also, but I think they break in after a short while and vibrations go down a little...

The vibrations start off the worst at 2k rpm. After they break in, it'll move down lower until the worst point settles at around 1k rpm.

Give it about 500 miles for the first break in and another 1000 miles after that for the second break in.

Oh, and if you can, install the tranny mounts as well. Dispite what you would think, it vibrates less with both of them, not more.

Just got my TTR engine mounts and trans mounts..was going to install them this weekend, but, a cat tried to go through my intercooler and radiator as I was going 45MPH...stupid cat. Anyway, does anyone know what the torque spec is for mount bolts?

37 pounds on the engine side, 74 on chassis side if I recall.

I raised my idle to 1070 RPM's and it made a huge difference in the vibrations! It only took a minute with HP Tuners. Now with the A/C off it feels close to stock at idle. I messed around with different settings and 1070 RPM's was the sweet spot for my car. I have close to 4,000 miles on the mounts so far so they should be "broken in". However, my vibrations never really got better till I raised the idle.

They stop wheel hop. It was a HUGE difference with them. If you care about the track at all then I would say the mounts should be one of the first things you do.

The vibration comes from the engine having a more direct contact with the chassis. I think I paid about $250.00 or so for all three. The install isn't hard but you will need a little muscle. The transmission mounts need to be pressed in and if you don't have a press then you will have to do it by hand and it isn't easy.

On the contrary, I installed both of my mounts without a press quite easily, you just need to use something like a screwdriver and pry it in little by little...once and edges are in, smack it with a mallet to get it all the way in and you're done. Took 10 minutes per mount, didnt break a sweat.

I am glad you did it with ease. I have a press and still had a hard time getting them in. These were by far the tightest bushings I have ever done. i don't know if something is different about the SS/TC or not but it wasn't an easy task for me.

there's a how to that is very helpful. basically you support the engine with a jack while youre doing it. I'll be putting my trans mounts in on tuesday. the motor mount only took me about 20 minutes...i was txting a bit too though so it could have been cut down to 10. very easy task.
