Is this a good tuner motor? Will it take well to Mods?

 

it should. i havent heard anyone complain about blowing the motor yet. Turbo is definately a good idea. you basically have the same 2.4 that the srt4 has so why not jus turbo it.

 

It's 2.4 Ecotec not Ecotech and yes from what we have observed even the smallest bolt ons are doing wonders for this car. Imagine what F/I will do

 

Way better engine then the SRT-4 and diffferent too. Although the SRT-4 is built for alot more boost.


If you have noticed in this section, people have put exhaust, CAI, header and the ECM has been cracked. So it does have some support.

at my local chevy dealer its going to cost me 3700 bucks so i was wonder if you know if i can get it from somewhere for cheaper the almost 4 grand

Try salvagedirect.com...look for a wrecked car Cobalt/Satrun with the 2.4.

 

you're right they must be the same becasue they have the same displacement

Basically the most incorrect statement I have heard in a while

 

im sure he is just generally speaking that both cars will be 2.4 liters and turboed, anybody knows theyare still different

 

and must inherently have the same potential strictly due to displacement , not paying any attention to any other aspect of the motor ... all 2.4 turbos can expect the same results as the SRT engine regardless of design

 

well i would say the 2.4 vvt ecotec built with better lower compression internals and a nice turbo kit would be an overall better engine that the srt-4 engine.
