Reconfigurable Performance Display (RPD) 09/TC?

Can anybody tell me how useful this device is on the 09/Tc's? I have the 08 which it wasn't introduced to and i was thinking about getting it. Is the Tq and Hp levels correct on the device? And most important, is it worth the extra $300?

If u have this feature on your 09 balt, please let me know if its a good device or not?

It is a cool gadget to show of things like spark advance, cam phase timing, IAT, fuel pressure, Boost i cant see those being inaccurate the horse power meter have yet to figure that out wether it is just equations through amount of air and engine load that i would use as a reference. I also dont think you can get it for the 08 becuase of the difference in PCMs and other people were saying to get it installed after the factory was about 750. I asked my parts guy he qouted me 250 my price 300 retail but that was just for the display not install ill find out how much time they give to install but like i said i dont think you can on an 08. so dont buy it yet till you find out from youre dealer if A. it can work and B. how much it will cost in total.

I dont see how the 08 wont be able to use it since its the same exact car as the 09. THE SAME except the blue tooth options. But i'll check first just to be sure. Thanks for the info.

From what I have heard, they have a different operating system. They will not be available for 2008s.

yeah i wanted to wait but the rebates were not the same when i got mine.. the 2008 had a 1500 rebate and the 2009s didnt have a rebate at all. Trust me i wasnt gonna wait any longer... i really wanted the USB option but i found out that the 2008s can still get it so i was happy. They have a ipod adapter option in parts

i compared the 2 from the specs and they both seem pretty equal, From the computer to the gas pedal. Since the option for the regular boost gauge was available for the 09's it should have the same setup for th 08's, just needs to connect the gauge to the computer and sensors just like any other aftermarket system. If they have differ OS for the 09, they would of delayed the 08's and just released the 09's since they were launch a few months apart.

Yeah I was searching this same topic before. I went through a bunch of articles and I remembered they said you couldnt for some reason. It would take some serious hardwiring and splicing. But that was a couple of months ago, so it could be different now.
Let me know if you find out for sure if you can or cannot use it.

I thought it looked hokey at first, now I wish I had it- mainly for the configurable shift lights.

I'm with you. I wish I had it, but I didn't want to wait so long for them to find one that had it along with the other options I wanted. I would like to get it added on someday. $750 seems high, though

The difference is in the in dash harness, it is even difficult to install it on an 09 if it didn't come with it. Don't quote me the in dash harness is about $600. After all that I don't know if you have to mess with the computer or not.

the 08s have a genII os , while the 09s have a genIII , wont work with the 08s. Sorry. I bought my 09ss/tc last week and they are finished building it and it should be here on mon. but they are having problems sourcing the part for this display from GM. And this is GM I am dealing with LOL.

But they are working on it and I will let you guys know what they say. they said that it was aftermarket, and I said that it was in the freaking catalog that I got at the dealer...LOL

I think your are wrong, I THINK. The difference is in the BCM(?) A simple tune or swap will fix that.
