squeaky brakes

squeaky brakes

my car is only 2 years old with 35k miles on it and my brakes are starting to squeak when i brake, should this be happening this soon? is there anything I can do to fix this without replacing the pads?

If you have 35k city miles, ride them, or slam on them every time you stop they could be worn out. Check the pad thickness like the others suggested.

if the brakes are still fairly new with some pad left on it you might just want to clean them with brake cleaner.

ive been sharing my car with my brother cause hes back from the navy for a few months and i know he likes to show off so hes probably been slamming on the brakes daily.

ill check thickness, and ill probably look in to those rotor/pads since my car has shitty brakes IMO (07 cobalt)

cheap solution if you have bads left. take them off the caliper and set the on the ground (face down) and sand them down on the concrete and put them back on. check your rotors and see if they need resurfaced
