Picutres of where your factory power steering pump is. Since my car has the electric streering, I don't have one. I need to see where/how it goes to see how much room I have.

Quite confused, how much room for what exactly?

Thats the Cobalt engine compartment with the engine removed. You can plainly see the rack and pinoin mounted there. The electric drive unit is hiding on the right. That other large thing in the middle of the rack is the rear trans mount.

Weird. My electric steering motor is under the dash mounted to the column there. If I'm not mistaken weren't the 2.2L Ecotecs using cam driven power steering pumps once? Just like the old quad fours?

That is correct. The J-bodies have the cam driven system. The Deltas, being the technologically superior cars that they are, went to a speed sensitive electric system.

The Ecotec first came with the cam drive power steering pump. Up to 2004 I believe. And lucky us, we have the same cam set/head and all they did was put a little block off cover over the hole. So far so good. That's all I had to know.

My bad, I kind of mis-read that. You were right, yeah.
